Hello, my name is Kari Huizing!
For those of you who do not know me, I was born and raised right here in Abbotsford and have attended Living Hope all my life. I attended ACS for my elementary and high school education, and since then I have done a few schools with YWAM (Youth With A Mission). I am currently in my last semester of a Biblical Studies degree at Columbia Bible College, and am set to graduate in April! I recently finished a 6 month internship at a local missions organization called Multiply, which was an incredible season of growth and stretching, and I believe that God used it to prepare me for this next season of ministry at Living Hope. I am very thankful for this opportunity to serve as the Intern Youth Director for Living Hope, as I feel ready and eager to “give back” after many different seasons of receiving from our church. I would like to thank you as a congregation for your support over the years as I have done different missions endeavors. Much of my faith formation is a result of people in this church supporting me throughout the years in various ways, and I am excited to join in the faith formation of others in a more formal way.
Some fun facts about me: I enjoy travelling, and have most recently been able to study in Israel, and work at Christian summer camps in Lithuania and Ukraine. Family is important to me, and a lot of my family attends this church! I grew up on and still live on a dairy farm. I love droppies and dutch snacks! I enjoy being out in God’s creation. My current favorite book of the Bible is John. I love to pray with and encourage people.
I am excited to see how God is going to work in and through me for his glory in this season. My heart for this season is to see the Youth and Young Adults grow in their relationship with Jesus, and to know and stand firm in their God given identities. Thank you for prayers and support!
