My name is Lena Blain and I am honoured to be the Worship Coordinator at Living Hope Church. I have the pleasure of working with upwards of 50 volunteers who play instruments and sing on our weekly worship teams or run the sound and media for our Sunday services. At this time we have 6 different worship teams, and I absolutely love working with the variety of musicians and volunteers that we have available. My focus is to incorporate both traditional and contemporary elements into our services each week through the readings and song choices, creating an atmosphere of blended worship for all ages.
I am married to a wonderful man named Travis, and we live on my family’s farm in Aldergrove with our enormous dog Rocky and our floppy cat Rafiki. Travis and I moved here from Calgary in August of 2016 to explore some schooling options and to live closer to my family. While we were in Calgary, Travis and I both studied music at Ambrose University College, and we actually met through singing in the choir together! In 2014 I graduated from Ambrose with a Bachelor of Music degree with a major in piano performance and pedagogy. Along with working part time as a worship coordinator, I am also teaching private piano lessons in the Abbotsford community and at Living Hope Church.
Travis and I had very different plans when we first moved here last summer, yet now that we are here, we can’t imagine having a more welcoming and supportive community of believers to share our lives with. Having the privilege of working at Living Hope Church is truly an opportunity that was orchestrated by God’s handiwork.
