Pastor of Youth and Families Update

It is with great excitement that council would like to inform the congregation that Ben Wimmers accepted the call to be the Pastor of Youth and Family at Living Hope CRC! After much prayer and discernment Ben and his wife Kristina felt that God is leading them to our congregation to continue on in the work God is already doing here. They were encouraged by our community and felt the strong support from our members. Council will work on the details on moving them to BC after the arrival of their baby. Ben would like to be established in Abbotsford before the start of our next ministry year in September. If you would like to send a note of encouragement Ben would appreciate that b.wmmrs@gmail.com

On Behalf of Council and the search team we are very excited to inform the congregation that we have found a candidate for the Pastor of Youth and Families position. His Name is Ben Wimmers, and he is currently living in Hamilton Ontario with his wife Kristina where he is finishing up his masters of divinity at Mc Master University. Ben is also interning at Hamilton First CRC, and he is doing distant education at Calvin Seminary working on his Ecclesiastical Program for Ministerial Candidacy (EPMC). Ben’s intent is to be approved by Synod this June to be available for a call from a congregation and then Ordination in the CRC in the Fall.

Because of this intent Council will be asking the congregation to vote on April 24th to affirm the decision to call Ben to Living Hope CRC for this position.

There was a lot of prayer, meetings, discussions, that went into this process. Ben and his wife were able to visit Abbotsford in March.  We do feel that Ben would be a good fit into our community, and that he would work well with our staff and ministry leaders.
