Young Adults SANCTUS
SANCTUS is a joint gathering** of four Abbotsford CRC Young Adults Groups. We call it Sanctus because when God’s people gather from all corners, something meaningful and deep happens.
Join us on our first night together, at Living Hope, January 19th, 7.30pm. Where we will welcome our guest speaker, Al Breitkreuz of the Salvation Army, who will join us for our first three gatherings to share about “Gospel Centered Apologetics.” Lena Blain will lead us in worship, and we will gather around all kinds of appetizers.
Al Breitkreuz is a single dad with three nutty kids. He also has two step daughters as he recently married his high school sweetheart. This new crazy family is a story of grace, restoration and forgiveness and he is passionate about using story to bring the power of gospel restoration to bear on the lives of others.
He studied philosophy and religion at Northwest College and Trinity Western University, narrative theology at Regent College and literature and theology at St. Andrews University. He has pastored for over 15 years and is currently The Program Manager for The Centre of Hope in Abbotsford, B.C where he trains staff in the work of gospel centered justice for the poor and the marginalized.
In this series we will be discussing “gospel centered apologetics.” We will be looking at the classic arguments against the truth claims of Christ; however, I will try to show that if we can demonstrate that the greatest argument against Christianity is very simply that it sounds too good to be true, then at least our friends will know exactly what they are rejecting. Then the real work of gospel centered apologetics may begin!
