The council and staff at Living Hope have met and confirmed that we will be transitioning to a live-stream only format for the upcoming Sundays. There will be no gathering for the service at the Living Hope CRC’s building.
Please stay tuned for further updates.
In not gathering at the church, Living Hope will be joining many other churches in the lower mainland and throughout Canada and the United States in the cancellation of our on-site services.
In the last few weeks, we have been looking at the call in scripture to be attentive to those vulnerable in our society. While the risk factor may be lower for many of us in good health, this response is keeping in mind the vulnerable people who would be most affected by this. This is a place where we are being called to set aside our preferences and our desires to be meeting together for the sake of our broader community.
We believe that our response to COVID-19 is an opportunity to show our society that we believe in something deep and profoundly comforting. In times of significant change – we are anchored with the knowledge and the hope that our comfort is securely in our faithful saviour Jesus Christ. This should mean that rather than a spirit of fear, we respond in care and love to the community around us.
